What is a Subdomain?

A subdomain is a part of a website that has its own address within the main domain. It appears before the main domain and is separated by a period.

Simple Examples

- blog.exemplo.com: Subdomain for a blog.
- loja.exemplo.com: Subdomain for an online store.

In practice, a subdomain organizes different areas of a website without having to create a new domain. For example, mail.google.com is the subdomain for Google's email service (Gmail), and maps.google.com is for Google Maps.

Subdomains help separate specific sections within the same website.
